Rebmann joins George Mason with 25 years of experience in higher education and is a nationally respected leader and scholar in nursing, infection prevention, and global health security.

Dan Stephens has been named vice president for finance at George Mason University, following a national search. Stephens will succeed Sharon Heinle, who will retire in January 2025.

Solon Simmons, professor of conflict and analysis in the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, enters his first year as the George Mason University Faculty Senate president. At George Mason since 2006, Simmons has been a member of the senate for eight years.

The Global Education Office is reimagining and redesigning its vision while it prepares students for success in an increasing international and interconnected world and expands Mason’s global footprint.

Anne Osterman has been appointed as dean of the University Libraries and university librarian. 

This year, College of Public Health professor James (Jim) Metcalf joined some very rare company, becoming the fourth George Mason University faculty member to mark 50 years of service.

The student lifecycle transformation is a university-wide initiative, aligned with Mason's strategic direction. The overarching aim is to deliver a unique and distinctive student experience that fosters lifelong engagement.

Mason will launch a pilot project this fall to study utilization of space on its campuses.

Chris DiTeresi was named associate vice president for research integrity and assurance at George Mason University, where he provides leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Research Integrity and Assurance and its six major compliance programs.

Darren Troxler has joined the Office of the Provost as the Executive Director of External Transfer Articulation and Chief Transfer Officer. He previously served as the Associate Dean of Admissions and Strategic Initiatives, Assistant Dean of Admissions, and Director of Admissions Operations in the Division of Enrollment Management supporting the university’s transfer enrollment.
