June 24, 2026On July 1, 2026, several significant changes to federal financial aid included in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, also referred to as the OBBBA or Working Families Tax Cuts Act, go into effect that affect current and prospective students at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. George Mason University’s Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) has developed a centralized webpage for students, faculty, and staff to review these changes.
February 19, 2024Due to delays in the release of this year’s FAFSA, Mason has extended its freshman enrollment deposit deadline to May 15.
July 14, 2023Alethia Shipman was recently appointed as director of student financial aid at George Mason University. Shipman, who has been with Mason for more than a year serving as associate director of financial aid, assumes the position following the retirement of Sandy Tarbox.
